Key UAE and Abu Dhabi entities have entered a multiparty collaboration agreement to formalise the cooperation with Archer Aviation Inc. to advance the electric air taxi operations’ establishment in Abu Dhabi, the company announced on Friday.
Signed under the auspices of the Smart and Autonomous Systems Council (SASC), the agreement envisions the launch of the first commercial eVTOL flight – the first commercial flying taxi operation in the emirate – in the first quarter of 2026.
Under the multi-hundred-million dollar investments it received from Abu Dhabi, the company will establish its international headquarters in the Emirates and manufacture air taxis.
“We are continuing to work closely with our key partners in the region on this initiative, such as Etihad Training and Falcon Aviation,” the company said in a statement about its third-quarter results late on Thursday.
Under the agreement, the US-based Archer Aviation is the the first eVTOL manufacturer in MENA (Middle East and North Africa) to to establish manufacturing capabilities full eVTOL production locally. With regards to the infrastructure development, regulatory framework and flight operations in the UAE, The company has already made significant progress .
