Belarus and Indonesia have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening agricultural cooperation during high-level talks in Jakarta, as both nations seek to boost trade and enhance food security. The meeting brought together Belarusian Foreign Minister Maksim Ryzhenkov and Indonesian Coordinating Minister for Food Affairs Zulkifli Hasan, according to BelTA.

With food security a top priority for Indonesia, the discussions focused on practical steps to expand bilateral collaboration.

Belarus confirmed its readiness to supply agricultural machinery, fertilizers, and a variety of food products, including meat, dairy, and poultry. In addition to exports, Minsk offered Indonesian partners access to advanced agricultural technologies and full project support to help strengthen domestic food production capabilities.

During a separate meeting with Indonesia’s Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, Ryzhenkov highlighted several promising areas for cooperation and extended an invitation for Sulaiman to visit Belarus.

“We are ready to share our technologies and expertise to help Indonesia achieve sustainable food security,” Ryzhenkov said.

The talks also explored opportunities for mutual agricultural trade, with both sides agreeing to continue discussions on supplying products in high demand in their respective markets. Belarus proposed leveraging major international events, such as the “Belagro-2026” exhibition, to showcase cooperation potential and attract new partners.

This visit, held on August 5–6, marks the first official trip by a Belarusian foreign minister to Indonesia since the Belarusian Embassy opened in Jakarta in 2012. It underscores the growing importance of agricultural collaboration in the two countries’ bilateral agenda.

By combining Belarus’s agricultural expertise and industrial capacity with Indonesia’s growing demand for modern farming solutions, both nations aim to create a mutually beneficial partnership that strengthens food supply chains and supports long-term economic growth.
