Egypt’s presidential sustainable initiative for women’s health support has made significant strides since its launch in July 2019, recording a total of 57,780,622 visits by the end of February 2025.
The initiative, managed by Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population, aims to provide comprehensive healthcare services to women across the country, with a focus on early detection and prevention.
The initiative offers free screenings for women aged 18 and above, targeting non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and breast cancer. The screenings are provided through 3,663 health units and 102 hospitals nationwide, offering advanced evaluations when necessary. Notably, over 790,000 women have received advanced screenings since the program’s inception.
In addition to its health screenings, the program has been instrumental in detecting 31,842 breast cancer cases and conducting nearly 424,000 mammograms. These services have resulted in free treatments for confirmed cases, with continued care supported through the state-funded treatment system or health insurance.
The initiative also focuses on educating women about reproductive health, family planning, and wellness, training over 30,000 medical staff to improve service delivery. Furthermore, the program includes a dedicated hotline, “100 Million Healthy Lives,” which has received more than 27,700 inquiries to date, ensuring accessible information for women in need.
This nationwide initiative has proven to be a pivotal step toward improving women’s health and well-being in Egypt, providing critical support and resources to millions of women across the country.
