These corridors are integral to Egypt’s broader 2030 Sustainable Development Plan, which envisions a modernized transport system and a strategic role in global trade

Egypt is set to revolutionize its transportation and logistics infrastructure with the development of seven integrated logistics corridors by 2030. This ambitious project, spearheaded by President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, aims to connect key industrial, agricultural, and mining regions to seaports, fostering economic growth and transforming Egypt into a regional logistics hub.

The seven corridors will link Egypt’s major ports on both the Red Sea and the Mediterranean, facilitating seamless movement of goods across the country and beyond. These corridors will feature a combination of high-speed railways, roads, and logistics zones, designed to streamline transportation and boost trade efficiency.

Among the most significant corridors are the Sokhna-Alexandria route, connecting the port of Ain Sokhna with Alexandria’s Grand Port, and the Cairo-Alexandria corridor, which links Egypt’s bustling capital with Alexandria. The Arish-Taba corridor will serve the Sinai Peninsula, while the Tanta-Mansoura-Damietta route aims to support agricultural areas in Lower Egypt.

Another critical corridor, Gargoub-Salloum, will facilitate trade with Libya, improving connectivity via Egypt’s largest dry port in Salloum. The Cairo-Aswan-Abu Simbel corridor will enhance logistics across Upper Egypt, promoting agricultural development and tourism, especially in the Abu Simbel region. The Safaga-Qena-Abu Tartour corridor will ensure efficient goods transport across Egypt’s Red Sea ports, supporting various logistics hubs.

These corridors are integral to Egypt’s broader 2030 Sustainable Development Plan, which envisions a modernized transport system and a strategic role in global trade. By linking production areas to major ports, Egypt aims to become a key player in regional logistics and transit trade, further boosting its economic growth and positioning itself as a logistics powerhouse in the Middle East.
