Multiple agreements aimed at enhancing strategic cooperation between UAE and China’s government entities and the private sector were signed during the official visit of Abu Dhabi’s economic delegation to China.
The landmark agreement which spans various sectors was signed between the Government of Abu Dhabi represented by the Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED) and the Government of Shanghai Municipality represented by the Foreign Affair Office of the Shanghai People’s Government.
“As economic cooperation is a key pillar in cementing relations, we are forging ahead with efforts to build bridges and enhance bonds with key economies, powerhouses, and trading partners around the world, guided by our leadership’s collaborative and proactive approach to shaping a better future for all,” His Excellency Ahmed Jasim Al Zaabi, Chairman of ADDED, said.
Those two government bodies will also oversee efforts to ensure the agreement’s objectives aligned by the leaders of the two countries, the trade between which, according to the sources, has grown exponentially to nearly US$100 billion in 2023 from US$2 billion in 2000. Also, UAE investments in China increased by 120% whereas Beijing’s investments in the UAE have surged by 16%.
