Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi held talks today with his UAE counterpart Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan during a working visit to the capital of the United Arab Emirates, Abu Dhabi, during which the two heads of state focused on regional issues of mutual interest, as reported by Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Per the Ambassador Mohamed El-Shennawy, spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, the strengthening of the bilateral relations and the expansion of cooperation in the spheres of economy and investment was the main topic of the meeting focused on a multitude of priority issues.
The two leaders also discussed “the current regional developments and ways to restore security and stability in the region,” per the statement of the Egypt’s Presidency.
Egypt and the UAE have intensified their cooperation in recent years, with the latest joint project worth US$110 billion being launched back in October, when Al-Sisi and Al Nahyan attended the opening ceremony of the developing project of the city of Ras Al-Hekma in the western part of Egypt’s northern coast.
