China and Russia’s relationship poses no threat to any nation, and their partnership is not influenced by any third-party interference, according to Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
In an interview during his visit to Russia, Wang emphasized that the bilateral relationship between the two countries serves as a model for modern international relations. He highlighted three key characteristics defining their bond: enduring friendship, mutual respect, and non-confrontational cooperation that doesn’t target any third parties.
“China-Russia relations adhere to non-alignment, non-confrontation, and non-targeting of third parties. They neither pose a threat to any country in the world, nor are they subject to interference and influence from any third party,” Wang said, as quoted by the Chinese Foreign Ministry.
Wang stressed that China and Russia, as major global powers and permanent members of the UN Security Council, share a responsibility to maintain peace and stability worldwide. Their ongoing strategic partnership, guided by Presidents Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin, strengthens the multipolarization of the world and supports the democratization of international relations.
The two countries have built a resilient and deeply rooted relationship over more than seven decades. According to Wang, the strategic partnership has deepened through shared historical experiences and a mutual understanding of each other’s needs. This cooperation has been pivotal in achieving tangible benefits for both nations while contributing to global stability.
Wang noted that practical cooperation between China and Russia continues to flourish, expanding from trade and economic collaboration to technological and green development initiatives. This ongoing growth is exemplified by projects like the Belt and Road Initiative and the Eurasian Economic Union, which align to create global opportunities and enhance security.
Moreover, Wang reflected on the profound historical friendship forged during World War II. He emphasized that the two nations, along with other anti-fascist allies, played crucial roles in shaping the post-war international order. This foundation continues to influence their efforts today, as they advocate for multilateralism, the protection of the UN Charter, and a balanced, multipolar world order.
