A military airfield near the southern Russian city of Taganrog was targeted today with a barrage of six US-made ATACMS missiles that, fortunately, only inflicted minor damage on the airfield also leaving with two administrative buildings and several cars with shrapnel damages, RT reports.
Vowing retaliation for the attack, Moscow has informed that falling fragments of the missiles have inflicted injuries to unspecified number of Russian servicemen.
“This attack by Western long-range weapons will not go unanswered, and appropriate measures will be taken,” it said without providing further details.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Kiev forces attacked with six missiles, four of which were veered off course affected by electronic warfare measures while the other two were shot down. Images from the scene suggest the ATACMS missiles used in the attack, photos of which were circulating online, likely included cluster warheads.
The Russian military has not elaborated on these reports.
