In an effort to boost its defense ties with India, Moscow gave New Delhi an informal offer to produce in India its fifth-generation stealth fighter jet Sukhoi Su-57 for the Indian Air Force which already have Russian fighter jets as part of its military fleet,
Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport offered to start producing the fighter jets as early as this year if the government in Delhi accepts the offer from Russia, which has for decades been the main weapons supplier to the world’s biggest arms importer.
Although Kremlin’s representatives already were in talks with Indian government’s officials and with representatives of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd.a, the state-owned planemaker, India’s defense ministry still didn’t comment the development.
