Pointing out that “technical errors” can occur, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accepted Vucic’s apology, noting that Moscow likes his prompt reaction on the “wrong voting”

Following Belgrade’s support for a Kiev-endorsed statement on the Ukraine conflict voting in favor of a Russia-critical resolution in the UN General Assembly, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has apologized to the nations, stressing that Serbia voted for ‘by mistake’.

”I think Serbia made a mistake today. I apologize to the citizens of Serbia for that and I take the blame for it myself, because I’m probably tired and burdened and can’t get everything done,” Vucic said on Tuesday.

He noted that Serbian stance of neutrality “required it to abstain from weighing in on both measures.”

Previously on Monday, UNGA passed two competing resolutions related to the conflict in Ukraine -coinciding with its third anniversary- and Belgrade voted for the one condemning Russia, submitted by Kiev, along with 92 other countries.

Noting that “technical errors” can occur, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov accepted Vucic’s apology, noting that Moscow likes his prompt reaction on the “wrong voting”.
