China’s Fujian Province is preparing to host the BRICS Forum on Partnership on New Industrial Revolution 2025, scheduled for September 16–17 in the coastal city of Xiamen. The event, co-organized by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Fujian provincial government, is set to highlight international cooperation in industrial innovation, digital transformation, and green development.

According to organizers, delegates from more than 30 countries and international organizations have confirmed participation. The two-day forum will feature high-level dialogues, exhibitions, and sub-forums dedicated to key themes such as artificial intelligence, digital economy, low-carbon development, and industrial modernization.

Zhu Ke’er, deputy director of the international cooperation department at MIIT, emphasized the forum’s long-term vision.

“The event aims to build an exchange platform for governments, industries, academia and research institutions at home and abroad. It also aims to promote the alignment and coordination of industrial policies among various countries and to help enterprises expand cooperation opportunities,” she said at a press briefing.

Since its launch in 2019, China has hosted six successful editions of the BRICS industrial forum. The 2025 edition will also mark the creation of the BRICS Partnership on New Industrial Revolution Advisory Group, a permanent body tasked with advancing collaboration among member states. The group, led by industrial authorities of the five BRICS nations, will design annual work plans to be approved at ministerial and summit levels.

The forum is seen as a cornerstone of BRICS efforts to deliver high-quality growth, inclusive industrialization, and enhanced digital and trade connectivity. With its focus on innovation and sustainability, the Fujian gathering is expected to further shape the bloc’s vision of a “second Golden Decade” of cooperation.
