US journalist and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson claims Biden’s administration tried to kill Russian President during the Ukraine conflict, denouncing the alleged plan as insane due to “the potentially cataclysmic fallout for global security.”
“Who takes over Russia? What happens to the nuclear arsenal in a country so complex that outsiders can’t even understand… That’s demented that you would even think about something like that,” he added, raisin concerns about the fate of vast nuclear arsenal Russia owns.
President Trump’s announced campaign to declassify numerous government papers, according to Carlson who gave no further details about the alleged assassination plot, is now rattling many former and current US officials due to those plans.
“I think this was one of the reasons [ex-Secretary of State] Tony Blinken was pushing so hard for a real war, trying to kill Putin, for example… The Biden administration did [it], they tried to kill Putin,” Carlson said.
Responding to Carlson’s claims, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday that the Russian leader “is well protected from any potential threats.”
“Russian security services continuously take all necessary measures to ensure public safety and the safety of those under state protection. First and foremost, the head of state,” he told reporters, refusing to confirm or deny US attempts to target Putin.
